Since March 2017, the Ministry of Health of Uganda, in collaboration with the USAID ASSIST project has been working with 15 health facilities in the two Northern districts of Gulu and Nwoya to specifically improve the experience of care, for mothers delivering in these facilities, as well as referrals.

These facilities are diverse: from a district hospital, to a general hospital and health centers. Here, Mary Atim Ladwong, a midwife in Anaka hospital, and Lilly Grace Ayamo, a clinical officer in Koch Goma Health Centre IV, tells us what steps they took to improve experience of care, and how it affected their work.
