Everyday: Nearly 5400 stillbirths occur, 810 women lose their lives during childbirth and 6700 newborns lose their lives.

This year, World Patient Safety Day is dedicated to 'Safe maternal and newborn care', recognizing the significant burden of avoidable harm women and newborns are exposed to due to unsafe care, particularly around the time of childbirth.
